Code of Ethics

The Rules of Conduct shall be the NBASLPA Code of Ethics.

In the case of conflict between the Rules of Conduct and the other provisions of the bylaws, the other provisions of the bylaws shall have precedence.

Supervision of Communication Health Assistant Agreement Form

TO BE COMPLETED BY REGISTRANTS WHO PREVIOUSLY SUPERVISED OR CURRENTLY SUPERVISE CHAs

All registrants of NBASLPA who supervise Communication Health Assistants (CHAs) must complete and submit the Communication Health Assistant Agreement when commencing and/or ceasing this supervision role.

Registrants supervising CHAs may be audited to ensure compliance with Rule 15.4.2 (d).

- I supervise a CHA and understand that CHAs working in speech-language pathology or audiology must be supervised by a qualified speech-language pathologist or audiologist in accordance with Bylaw 15 and Rule 15.

Competency profiles for the professions specify the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgement required of regulated members for safe and effective practice.

NBASLPA participated in the development of national competency profiles for speech-language pathology and audiology. These profiles have been applied as part of our regulatory framework in relation to registration requirements, continuing competence, complaints investigation, and disciplinary matters.
