Application for Guest Lecturer Status

In the province of New Brunswick, an individual must hold a certificate of registration with NBASLPA to perform any component of the practice of audiology or speech-language pathology.  It is an offence under the Act Incorporating The New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (The Act) and An Act Respecting Health Professionals to practice or identify oneself as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist in New Brunswick without being registered with NBASLPA.

Individuals who wish to serve as a guest lecturer on any subject matter covered under The Act are required to file an application for guest lecturer status with NBASLPA using the prescribed form. Guest lecturer status will be approved for individuals in good standing with: the faculty of an accredited university; a Canadian regulator or professional association of audiology and speech-language pathology; or the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

There will be no fee for applicants if the membership noted above can be verified online by NBASLPA or by receipt of a letter from a qualifying institution.  Other applicants must submit a fee of $50. with their application.

Applications must be received at least 30 days before the event.  Applications received less than 30 days before the event may not be considered in time or may be subject to a late fee of $100.

Upon verification of the applicant's qualifications, the NBASLPA Registrar will grant the applicant guest lecturer status which entitles the applicant to deliver the lecture or demonstration described in the application.
